pHarm Therapeutics Inc. was co-founded by Drs. Stephen Vanner and Christoph Stein. Dr. Vanner is a Gastroenterologist and clinician scientist with a longstanding CIHR (Canadian Institute of Health Research) funded research program examining pain signaling in preclinical and clinical studies of visceral and somatic pain. He is the Director of Clinical Research at Queen’s University and the Gastrointestinal Diseases Research Unit. Dr. Christoph Stein is an Anaesthetist, clinician scientist and Emeritus Professor at Charité University, Berlin and co-inventor of NFEPP. His research focuses on pain mechanisms and opioid pharmacology, and is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Federal Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF), the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), the US National Science Foundation (NSF) and the European Commission.
